3. The next step was to clean the apartments from garbage with mandatory sorting. First, plastic windows, balcony blocks and other plastic products were dismantled, followed by woodwork, metal radiators and pipes, then linoleum, and finally ordinary household items. Each type of waste was taken separately to a landfill for disposal.

Only after the preparatory stages were completed did the heavy machinery start working, dismantling the building floor by floor, entrance by entrance. Thanks to the experience of the operators, the demolition of one floor took only 2-3 days in compliance with all safety standards.

Environmental responsibility: using global practices

Special attention was paid to the environmental aspect of the work. The demolition slag was crushed to a size of less than 500 mm, loaded onto dump trucks and taken to a special landfill. According to the best international practices, the material will be processed at special crushers and reused in the construction of the country’s infrastructure. Thus, up to 80% of the materials can be recycled, reducing the environmental impact and saving natural resources.

The rebar and other steel elements were sold as scrap metal for melting. Recycling the materials directly at the dismantling site also significantly reduced logistics costs and the transportation burden on the city.
