Forest-Ukraine takes part in the Exhibition of technologies for cleanup and restoration of natural resources

The construction company Forest-Ukraine took part in the Exhibition of technologies and equipment for territory cleaning, soil and water restoration, which took place in Kyiv on November 6-7, 2024. The event was organized with the support of the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities for:

• familiarization with innovative technologies for cleaning up the territories created by Ukrainian and foreign companies;
• Discussion of the most important issues related to the waste problem – the organizers set a goal to form an effective interaction between the government (executive and legislative branches), business, international experts and sponsors to solve the waste problem and reduce the burden on the environment;
• finding solutions that would help to cope with the consequences of enemy attacks and destruction that occurred during the full-scale invasion.

During the exhibition, the participants discussed methods of cleaning up the territories that meet European standards. The main areas of focus included recycling of materials obtained during dismantling, soil and water restoration. Special attention was paid to the elimination of chemicals and metals that poison the land and water.

Environmental mission of Forest-Ukraine

For more than 10 years, Forest-Ukraine has been operating in the construction and demolition sector, and during wartime, it has been actively implementing environmental protection initiatives. In our activities, we adhere to the following principles:

Since February 2022, a huge number of houses and businesses have been partially or completely destroyed, so the question of dismantling them and removing and disposing of materials has arisen. Our company is engaged in the comprehensive cleanup of areas affected by drones, CABs, artillery attacks, etc. In our activities, we use modern equipment and technologies that have the following advantages:

In addition, thanks to the screening process, it is possible to immediately compact and grout. This ensures optimum wear resistance, temperature resistance, and good adhesion to cement when pouring the foundation. At the same time, the cost is lower, and the use of recycled materials reduces the negative impact on the environment.

Statistical data: the problem of waste after the destruction of buildings

According to available information, only 5% of the dismantled materials were reused, and the rest are in landfills. This state of affairs is worrisome, as large burials have a negative impact on the environment, as decaying substances gradually penetrate groundwater and soil. Therefore, it is extremely important to recycle as much material as possible rather than store it.

The importance of eco-friendly disposal and recycling

The less waste is released into the environment, the less risk there is for animals, plants and humans due to water and soil contamination. “Forest-Ukraine takes a responsible approach to solving environmental problems, focusing on European standards and taking into account the specifics of the current situation in the country. Thanks to the recycling of materials and the use of recycled crushed stone, as well as proper waste management, the company manages to maintain its reputation as a reliable assistant in the utilization and elimination of the consequences of destruction of various scales.
