Reconstruction in Gorokhov: we are turning a long-term hospital into two residential high-rise buildings

The townspeople were very happy when 30 years ago a five-story building with an area of ​​9,000 sq m was built near the local park. If Ukraine had not experienced difficult times then, the residents of the entire surrounding district would have had a luxurious medical and therapeutic center with swimming pools and hydrotherapy procedures in them.

However, things didn’t go as planned. The building was 54% complete, but it didn’t reach its “star” time until three decades later. True, the Horokhiv district and city councils tried to find an investor who would breathe new life into the building and in return provide several apartments for social housing, but for some reason none of the construction magnates agreed to such a condition.

On June 10, 2021, at a session of the Lutsk District Council, the building was included in the list of those subject to privatization, and on November 12 of the same year it became known that it was sold at auction for 1.8 million.

According to the mayor of Horokhiv, Viktor Godyk, the private enterprise FOREST-Ukraine undertook to reconstruct it. The professionals immediately decided that they would make two out of one long building. They would equip 65 comfortable apartments. The vacant lot next to it would be landscaped.

Currently, work is in full swing inside the building and on the roof. Considering its speed and coordination, it seems that even war will not prevent the owner from carrying out his plans, to the joy of the locals and those residents whom Gorokhiv has sheltered in these troubled times.
